WOW... here is an article from the Las Vegas sun today...
January 13, 2010 Currently: 45° | Complete forecast | Log in Las Vegas Sun * Two penny slot players hit Megajackpots New York woman wins $4.1 million at Venetian, Las Vegas man wins $1 million at Silverton By Amanda Finnegan (contact) Monday, Jan. 11, 2010 | 10:42 a.m. Two penny-slot players added a lot more to their bank accounts after hitting it big in Las Vegas this weekend. One winner is a 32-year-old Las Vegas man, who hit the Megjackpot for $1 million while playing the penny Jeopardy at Silverton late Saturday evening, according to International Game Technology, maker of the Megajackpot game. The local office administrator, who wished to remain anonymous, said he regularly visits the property where his sister works, IGT said “I plan to use my winnings to help others and invest in my recently established business,” the man said. A retired teacher from Oswego, N.Y. was the second to hit a jackpot this week. The 78-year-old woman, whose name was not released, hit the Megajackpot for $4.1 million while playing the penny Wheel of Fortune game at the Venetian. The woman had been playing the penny machine earlier in the evening and walked away but later returned to play about $40 on the same machine before hitting the jackpot. This weekend’s jackpot wins are the fourth in Las Vegas since the end of December. A 57-year-old man from Los Angeles hit the Megajackpot for $12.2 million at the Bellagio during the early morning hours of Dec. 28, according to IGT. A 63-year-old retired woman also won $1.6 million playing Wheel of Fortune on Dec. 26 at Paris, Las Vegas. -------------------- ![]() |

Gah! The Jeopardy slot was the only one I ever really got a good payout from, I thought they were all gone. Guess I need to find my way back to Vegas soon!

Wow! Didn't even realize you could win jackpots that big on penny machines. You probably have to play Max Bet to even have a chance of winning those progressive jackpots and unfortunately, I never feel "rich enough" (or lucky enough) to bet that much per spin with real money. LOL.

You absolutly have to play max to win the jackpot. 2 quick stories. Aboot 4-5 years ago some dope was only playing $1 on Megabucks and hit. So instead of winning $12-13 million (I think that was what it was at the time) he only won $150,000. To be sure he took quite a beating on morning radio. Secondly, we were out having breakfast at a local casino when this guy who was paying the bill asked his freind for a couple of bucks for the tip. The guy told him I was just playing Megabucks at a dollar a spin so he didn't have any singles. His friend went ballistic on the guy yelling at him what an idiot he was. Everybody in the area turned to look at him. Quite a scene. So, I guess the moral of these stories is if you're playing a progressive - BET MAX! You never know.
BTW, Furie, come on down! |
