How to Take a Screen Shot

You have 2 ways to do this.

1st, you can use a free program like ScreenHunter (find more about ScreenHunter here) or you can take a screen shot using your keyboard.

This tutorial will show you how to do this using your desktop keyboard and laptop keyboard (note, not all keyboards will look exactly like the ones I am using, but this should give you the basics to do it).

Ok - lets pretend I want to take a screen shot of the Mega Smoothie slot from one of the Phantom EFX games. Make sure you have not minimized the game or window.... What you see on your monitor screen is what you are going to take a screen shot (picture) of. So if you have minimized the game or window, you will get a screen shot probably just of your desktop.

First you need to capture the screen. Press the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard.
What this does is makes your computer "copy" what is on your monitor.

For Laptop
Print Screen
On my laptop I have to press the FN key and the PrtSC key at the same
time to take a screen shot.

Your laptop buttons might be in a different place than this one.
Just look for a FN button and one that has PrtSC on it.

Now we need to get to the Paint Program.
Press Start - Programs - Accessories - Paint.
(Please note that yours might look a little diferent than mine, because
I am on Vista and you may be on XP)

Once your Paint program has opened up, click on Edit and then
choose Paste.

Now you should see what you wanted to take a screen shot of
on the paint program now!

We have to save the image to our computer now.
Press File - Save As... a pop up window will pop up.

Your popup window will look something like this. We need to name the image - keep in
mind it is not good to have spaces in the names. Make sure you know where it is
getting saved to so you can find it later. Then just press save and you are done!
